Just to see them smile...
Today has been pretty uneventful, but I will mention one thing... Dalton fell asleep on me in the rocking chair this morning, and I just happened to look at him at the right moment. When I did, this slow, huge smile spread across his face. It was just precious! I remember Cade smiling in his sleep all the time! I love it!

Humor break-
Dalton just poured by small bowl of trail mix out on the living room end table and organized the peanuts, raisins, and M&Ms into groups! He cracks me up! And, hey... why can't I get him to organize his toys like this?! :)
What we've been up to!
Finally, I post something new! ha! It has been fun and very busy around our house. Since my last post...
We had a great time at the hockey game Fri. Jan. 8th. It turns out that kids 6 and under get in free to the hockey games, so my family and my sis's family all went together. Dalton did really good- I was pleasantly surprised by this. He enjoyed all the action and just walked back and forth down "our isle" all game long. Cade thought it was a little long (and it was for a 6 year old), but he enjoyed it too. He could hardly wait until the game was over because he knew Keith was taking him ice skating with the players after the game. Me and my sis, Amanda, took the younger two back to my house while Keith, Cade, Thomas, and Thomas Aaron skated. It was our first hockey game and we enjoyed it and will probably go again sometime!
The next morning, Keith left early to be the tournament director for the Bag Tag Challenge disc golf tournament. He did a great job, as usual, and everyone had a good time, despite the frigid temperatures!
All the next week was a little uneventful, but the weekend was fun. I went out with my BF, Jessica, and we ate at Olive Garden and then watched "Leap Year". It was a good, clean, funny, romantic comedy. And why can't 'they' make more movies like
that?! Sat. me and Dalton played in the mall playground while Keith and Cade watched Alvin and the Chipmunks. Cade thought it was so funny and talked about it, literally, for the next 2 days straight. He kept saying, "Mom, I just keep thinking about that movie!" Keith thought it was a little corny, but a great show for kids!
All last week was pretty busy between errands and appointments. School was out on Mon. so Dalton and I were glad to have Cade home with us for the day. I started a new Bible study Wed. mornings and we have been going to Wed. night church. Terry and I had lunch Thurs. (at Newk's-YUM) and it is always fun talking with her!
Fri. 22- Dalton was especially challenging, so when Keith got home, we all decided to go out for a while, change the scenery a bit. :) We ate at Taco Bell (Cade's choice and request-his new food is tacos), then went to Hobby Lobby to get ideas for redecorating the house. We found some great frames for the boy's room and got some ideas for ours. We are considering repainting the red walls in our room to a darker tan or beige color. Not sure yet...
Sat. 23- Cade had two birthday parties: F-U-N (for Cade anyway :)Before I took Cade to the parties, my friend Jessica and I walked 3 laps around the track. We would have walked longer, but the wind was harsh and Jessica gets ear infections easily. We still got some good exercise! We also went to a few stores looking for a picture board for the boy's room. No luck- I may have to look online to find what I want!
Sun. 24- We went to church and ate lunch together at home. Keith went and played a quick round of disc golf at Ballard and then we headed to Dad's to watch the championship football games. We were happy the Colts won, but disappointed in the way the Vikings/Saints game turned out. At first, we were ok with either team winning, but the more breaks the Saints got, the more we rooted for the Vikings. I am a big Bret Favre fan anyway!
That pretty much catches up to this week. I am focusing on healthy eating and eating less. I have also done some form of a workout program and stretching each day. I have lost 1 pound in 2 days, and that's not bad! I am currently working on designing my blog page and starting a snapfish account. I also want to start a scrapbooking project I saw on an awesome website called "Kevin and Amanda"(Thanks Candise for this site- I am in love!!) Anyway, Dalton is up from is nap and there is lots of laundry, ironing, and cleaning still to do! Plus, I need to sit down and have some one-on-one playtime with Dalton! Hope everyone is well!

Snow Day!!!
We are still in Mississippi, right?! Yes, it is snowing today! And sticking. And there was enough snow for Cade and I to have a (short-lived, but very serious) snowball fight! Little Dalton got to go in the backyard and walk around for a minute and then went to the front yard with his "monkey gear" (a monkey backpack with a looped handle for me to hold onto him) so he could run around without worries of getting into the street. Dalton lasted a few minutes in the front yard and then it was his naptime. He went to sleep while Cade and I went back and forth from the back to front yard, carrying containers of snow for our snowman. The front yard's snow had pine needles and debris all in it, but there was perfect, good-packing, and clean snow on the back porch. We topped him off with button eyes, a small carrot nose, and twigs for arms. So, we our little snowman is now in the front yard for all passers-by to admire!
Our neighbors across the street were outside throwing snowballs at each other and declared a snowball fight against me and Cade. I think Cade won- he got 2 or 3 really good hits. Of course, it was probably because of the superb, quite large snowballs his momma was handing him non-stop! ha! Now that's teamwork at its greatest!
It has been a pretty great day all around... This morning, I listened to Wizard 106 (local country station) to try and call in to win a family pack of tickets to the MSU vs. LSU hockey game tomorrow night. Can you believe I actually won?! And on the 3rd giveaway- talk about 3rd time's a charm! I won them to give them to my sister, Amanda. She has had a rough time at work and Thomas is still in seminary school. I thought they could use something fun and different to do! Kids 6 and under get in free, so I think my sis and her family might all go together since all our kids will get in free. And the boys will stay with mom to spend the night Sat. Boy, is Cade excited! He has been begging to spend the night with my mom all week. Dalton enjoys it too- a nice, big house to run around in. Oh, and terrorize their cat. (Again, Dalton is like his daddy!)
Well, tonight is the big game! We want TX to win, I assume, since Keith is from TX. I just always like to watch a good, close scoring game. That makes it exciting! We plan to watch the game at dad's house, as long as the roads aren't icy tonight. Will all this snow, who knows... :)

New Year's Resolutions
We all have them, right?! Good New Year's resolutions and a lot of good intentions. I have learned that making a bunch of resolutions just stresses me out! So, this year, I have a couple "goals" in mind, but I'm not even gonna call them "resolutions". That is such a strict word! Rather, I have goals, fun things I want to do.
I have already been de-cluttering the house, purging unused and unnecessary items, and organizing. It is amazing how much stuff piles up in your house throughout the year! And it is scary how much I enjoy organizing! I keep saying one of these days I will have a career as a professional organizer. ha!
One goal I have for this new year is to keep up with our family's blog page and learn how to navigate the internet better. Maybe this will help keep in touch with family better! I also want to understand the Bible better. Ever read Scripture and not get a word of it? Some passages are very self-explanatory, and others, for me anyway, leave me clueless. I have a good self-help book on discovering the Bible. I went through the book of Daniel last year using the techniques given by Kay Arthur, and I really learned a lot I didn't know. It was interesting. So, now I need to pick a new book and get started... which book to pick? :) There are also several great Bible studies that are fixing to start at our church.
The boys are both growing like weeds, especially Cade. He is doing great in Kindergarten- he is the top reader in his class of 15. His favorite day is "computer day" because he loves to navigate the computer. (He is truly his daddy's boy!) Dalton is into everything and then some. He loves to explore and manipulate things. He also likes to empty containers and re-organize them. (I guess he is truly his mommy's boy!) Cade and Dalton love each other and play well together, most of the time. They are a lot of fun. I will try and post at least several times a week and tell funny stories as they happen...so...
The funny story of the day, and I close this post... Keith was here for lunch and reading an old, hilarious e-mail that my grandma Price had sent me. Keith was laughing so loud and so hard that his face was turning red. Dalton was watching Keith really closely and all of the sudden just busted out laughing. It was the most fake, loudest, funniest thing you've ever seen! Basically, Dalton was mimicking Keith. And when Keith and I laughed at Dalton, he just kept doing it, at that point, for more attention. It was SO FUNNY!
Hope everyone is well and having a great start to the New Year of 2010! God Bless!
